Frequently Ask
Questions
- 1. Why a HOUSE CALL service?
"Less stress for your pet", not to mention you the owner. Some pets don't travel well.
They become nervous or carsick.   House calls spare these pets the upset of a car ride.
People with several pets may need to make multiple trips to the hospitals for routine care.   A single
house call can be a convenient solution.
Some people also have difficulty driving or transporting their pets or have no
transportation at all. A house call solves these problems as well.
Professional assessment is done in your home where your pet is most comfortable and least likely to mask
symptoms.
- 2. What if my pet needs SURGERY, HOSPITALIZATION
or X-RAYS?
Pets needing major surgery, hospitalization or radiographs will be referred to one of the many veterinary hospitals Dr. Caspermeyer is associated with throughout the Orlando area.
Dr. Caspermeyer may be the surgeon or may recommend the hospital veterinarian
perform the procedure, depending on circumstance.
If you already have a preferred veterinarian or hospital we will be happy to work with them in a team effort to help assure a speedy recovery for your pet.
If your pet has an unusual or very difficult case, your pet may be referred to one of the area's veterinary specialists.
- 3. What TYPE of PETS does Dr. Caspermeyer see?
Besides enjoying working with dogs and cats, Dr. Caspermeyer has special interest in birds, reptiles, rabbits, rodents and other exotic species.   Sorry, we do not provide services for horses or farm animals or "POT" bellied pigs.
- 4. What about EMERGENCIES?
"A Pet House Call" is NOT an emergency service per se.   We work on an appointment basis and may be out of your area when an emergency arises.   Although we
will do our best to respond to your needs, it would be wise to contact a local hospital also
in an emergency situation.   An animal sick enough to be seen on an emergency basis is
often going to require hospital care.   For after hours emergencies please call the Veterinary
Emergency Clinic at (407) 644-4449.
- 5. What about FEES?
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered.   If requested we will be glad to provide you with an estimate prior to performing any services.   Cash or personal check with identification are accepted.
- 6. AREAS Served?
What areas does "A Pet House call" serve?   Dr. Caspermeyer serves the Greater Orlando area with emphasis on Altamonte Springs, Longwood, Maitland and Winter Park. (additional mileage charges may apply due to travel time and expenses to more distant locations)
We DO NOT service Sanford, Kissimmee, St. Cloud or Clairmont.
- 7. What are our HOURS?
Normally we provide house calls from 9AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday. Hours of operation also vary with your location.   You may leave a message at anytime. After hours telephone calls are returned the next business day.
- 8. All NATURAL Diets.
Dr. Caspermeyer believes strongly in the importance of pets eating correctly for the prevention of any illnesses. Diet consultation is provided for his clients.
In certain illnesses (such as kidney disease, diabetes, severe food allergy) a
Prescription Diet will be advised (with delivery service to your home). However,
for the average pet (without a specific illness) we recommend a wholesome diet
made with human quality ingredients. A favorite diet of Dr. Caspermeyer (and the one he feeds his own pets) is the all natural, chemical preservative and by-product free pet health food,
Flint River Ranch.
